Thursday, 6/1/06 People talk about compromise and that can be a valuable tool at times but be careful not to try and use it as appeasement. Apeasement does NOT work. I once had a fellow jury member say to me "Well maybe we'll have to compromise." How do you compromise when their are only 2 choices? And that is the problem with apeasement as both sides see their view as correct. They will take what they can get but they won't be satisfied and they will continue to work to get their view.

Friday, 6/2/06 We are either moving towards Christ or we are moving away from Him.
Monday, 6/5/06 Those that belong to Christ will be persecuted. Persecution can come in many forms, it isn't just the extreme examples like prison, bodily harm, and murder. It can be the simple hostility against everything we believe that exists currently in the USA.

Tuesday, 6/6/06 When the beast, or antichrist, comes onto the scene he will create a mark.

so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666. Revelation 13:17-18 NIV

Notice that the number is the number of his name. It's not just a number that he likes but is somehow linked to his name.

Wednesday, 6/7/06 At one time in this country we strived to be something better. Superman and Captain America were heroes that made the right choice. They were something we strived to be because they didn't believe that the ends justified the means. We watched Ozzie and Harriet because they were the family that we wanted to be. We weren't perfect but we tried to be. Unfortunately, we have been fed the lie that we have to be realistic and realize that we can't be perfect. Would Roger Bannister have broken the 4 minute mile if he had settled or would Charles Lindbergh have made his historic flight? What made America great was the drive we had to be greater than what we were.

Thursday, 6/8/06 When we strive to be perfect, we do need to be aware that we are all sinners and as such we will make mistakes. But when we look to Christ as the perfect example then we will come closer than if we don't make the attempt. A high jumper that wants to jump 6 foot isn't going to set the bar at 4 foot. No, he is going to push himself to jump higher. If he sets the bar at 7 foot he may not jump that high but he is much more likely to reach 6 foot.

Friday, 6/9/06 Why is it that we fail to recognize the correlation between the rise of decadence in our society and the removal of God from our lives?
Monday, 6/12/06 There are those that would have us believe that it's the public versus the government. But the truth is that we ARE the government. As Abraham Lincoln said in his Gettysburg Address, "...and that government of the people, by the people, for the people" reflected the intent of our founders. The public and the government are one and the same and as such our laws are meant to be a reflection of our society. But the judiciary has taken on the role of the legislative branch and we have let it.

Tuesday, 6/13/06 The Holy Spirit speaks directly to us so that we don't have to go through a mediator to know God's Will. Then why do we need the Holy Bible? What is God's purpose in the written word? I am a sinner just the same as everyone else which means I'm not always listening to God. For this very reason sometimes when we try to spread His message we need a source to avoid false teachings and false prophets.

Wednesday, 6/14/06 So how do we know that the Holy Bible is God's true word? That is where knowledge that God is God becomes important. What I mean is that for God to be God then He is all-powerful and can make sure that everything in His book is true.

Thursday, 6/15/06 But what about other writings that were not included in the Holy Bible and often times contradict the Bible? If you look at any history book you will find information that some would argue against. Historians collect the information, pick through it, and select those that are reliable. So why when we are talking about God are we supposed to treat every writing as fact? Yet again we trust that God directed us to the true writings.

Friday, 6/16/06 A dirty rag can not clean itself, it can not mend itself, it can not make itself whole. It takes the Master's hands!
Monday, 6/19/06 So if God is guiding us to do the right thing because He doesn't want to see us hurt then why do we do the wrong thing? We don't see the consequences immediately. We may know or think we know what the consequnces are but we don't think it will happen to us.

Tuesday, 6/20/06 We have let the Enemy define words like happiness and success. The World thinks that success is a matter of wealth, popularity, power, and prestige. But these concepts are all subjective. That's the problem you can't measure success by the World's standards. One man's success is another man's failure. So we end up on an endless merry-go-round constantly chasing the horse in front of us. No wonder our world is becoming a world of excesses.

Wednesday, 6/21/06 When we go to God and ask Him about happiness and success then we get His definition. His answer is simply "I Am". He is success and happiness. They are not some vague worldly thing that we have to chase after but rather just a matter of accepting His Love for us.

Thursday, 6/22/06 Some teach that our actions will not get us into Heaven and that we can never be "good enough" to achieve righteousness but only by our faith in Christ will we be acceptable. Others teach that we must go out and do the good works to be following Jesus. The problem is that they are both right in which lies the failure of their teachings. We can not be "good" as we all make mistakes. We all fall short of the Glory of God which is why we need the sacrifice that Jesus made for us on the cross. But see our actions are a reflection of our hearts so if our hearts are focused on Christ then our actions will reflect this. We are not saved by our actions rather we act because we ARE saved. This means that if you claim to be His but you have not His actions then it should serve as a call to revaluate your heart. Have you really given it to Him?

Monday, 6/26/06 Man has struggled to prove whether God exists. Some try to prove He doesn't and some try to prove He does. God has provided all the evidence we need. He is all around us; in the warmth of a August afternoon, the strength of the mighty oak, the hope of a newborn child, the beauty of a star filled sky, the sacrifice of Christ. God isn't constrained to prove Himself by man's standards. Science will never prove He exists and everytime they attempt to prove He doesn't they only lead back to the same question. Where did it all come from? Most importantly every believer KNOWS that He is there.

Thursday, 6/29/06 There are those that teach that we can't mention obeying God's Laws. They either say that we are no longer bound by the Law or they say that it's "legalism" to talk about the Law. Anyone who teaches against the Law teaches falsely. Jesus was very clear in Matthew 5:13-20, when he stated "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets" and also said "until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished." We are saved by our faith in Jesus Christ and when we accept Christ as our Savior then He changes out hearts. When we talk about the Law then we provide a warning. What we are saying is that your actions are a reflection of your heart and if you don't see your actions changing then the question is "Have you given your heart to God?" God wants us to recognize Him but if we only do that with our lips then we betray Him.

Friday, 6/30/06 America can fall under the swords of our enemies just the same as anyone. We are not immune because we are God's nation or anything like that. If God allowed Isreal to fall under the sword numerous times then what makes us think the same can't happen here? God does not measure and compare countries. He has only one measure "Are we listening to Him?" and if this country continues to ignore Him then we can fall just the same as anyone.
