If you believe that God exists and He created the heavens and the earth. That He is responsible for creating an universe as vast and majestic as it is and an ecosystem so intricately amazing and perfect. Then how can you not trust Him with all your fears? We let these fears guide us to the wrong decisions. Decisions that are selfish and shortsighted. Decisions based on limited facts and incomplete information. Decisions that are unbiblical and man-made. Trust Him! Trust Him that you are the most important person to Him. That He will provide all that you need. Not necessarily all that you want but all that you NEED. That by trusting in Him you will find true love, peace, and happiness.

God says, “Do not take that job.”
We respond, “But I will make more money, don’t You want me to be happy?”
God says, “Do not marry that woman.”
We respond, “But I love her, don’t You want me to be happy?”
God says, “Do not buy that house.”
We respond, “But it is big enough for a family, don’t You want me to be happy?”
Then we lose our job, our marriage falls apart, and the house is foreclosed on, and we cry to the Lord, “O God, how could You let this happen to me?”

When we trust the Lord then we believe that He is going to take care of all of our needs. He feeds the birds of the air surely He can feed you who He loved enough to send His only Son. When we worry about providing for ourselves instead of listening to God then we end up making bad decisions. It's how we end up with abortions, drugs, gambling, racism, sexism, hate, fear, depression, suicide, and the list goes on. Rome fell, Babylon fell, Alexander's empire, the Mongolians, Napoleon, nations rise and fall. We will too unless we start listening to God.

Christ can not be merely a Sunday morning guest and expect that our lives will be fulfilling. Sin is what puts us in bondage. We become slaves to our sin. To be truly set free then we have to look to Jesus for everything. Jesus did not abolish the Law but fulfilled it. He became the sacrifice. We are saved by our faith in Jesus as the Son of God but when we have that faith then we DESIRE to follow the Law. This is not legalism. It is not saying you can earn your way into heaven or that if you sin that even with faith that you will end up in hell. But if you claim to have the faith but there is no change in your deeds then you have to wonder if you really have the faith.

Tuesday, 3/7/06
When I trust someone then I believe that what they tell me is the truth. When we confess our belief in Christ then we need to trust Him. Jesus can see perfectly. He knows what will harm us and what will protect us. When we decide to do things on our own instead of listening to Him then we are not trusting Him. Our sight is imperfect. We can not see the future and we often cause harm when we try.

Wednesday, 3/8/06
Why do we need to worry about our actions when we are saved by faith? To begin with deeds are a reflection of our faith. When we have faith then you see the works. Also we need to gaurd our hearts. When we start to rationalize that certain actions are okay even though they go against God's teaching then it becomes easier to rationalize other actions. In another words when we start to commit what we call "little sins" then the "bigger ones" become easier to commit. You see this in our lives such as speeding has become more prevalent and other traffic violations have increased also. It's why marijuana is a gateway drug as people use it then it becomes easier to use other drugs. Sin is sin and we have to start working to eliminate all sin from our lives. We all make mistakes but we don't have to continue to make those mistakes.

There is an old adage concerning computers; "garbage in, garbage out". What this meant was that if you put junk data into the computer then you're just going to get junk in return. God also tries to warn us against the same thing. We can't expect to watch TV shows and movies filled with sex, listen to music glorifying drugs, read books romanticizing adultery, listen to jokes vilifying moral values, shop at stores that sell abortion pills, work at jobs that depend upon the sins of men, and not have it affect our lives. If you eat candy all day then you are going to rot your teeth. If you take in the sins of the world all day then you're soul is going to rot. God can not just be a Sunday morning God. We have to look to Him all day and every day.

Friday, 3/10/06
One morning a servant runs up to his master, “Forgive me. Last night we were robbed. I swear it won’t happen again.”
The master kindly responds “You are forgiven.”
A couple of nights later it happens again. The servant begs for forgiveness and the master grants it again.
This continues every few days for a couple of months and every time the master is patient with the servant.
Eventually, the servant asks, “Master, I don’t know how to stop it. What should I do?”
The master responds, “Why don’t we start by closing the door.”

The deterioration of our society coincides with the loss of personal responsibility. We continue to expand the false belief that if my life isn't what I want it to be then someone must be oppressing me. And if I do something wrong then it must be because someone else did something to cause me to do it. The old "it's my wife's fault that I hit her" defense applied to every bad choice. What we have to do is realize that EVERY choice no matter how small is important to God. That we are responsible for our choices and that no bad choice is okay just because "everybody else is doing it", "it won't hurt anyone", or "I can get away with it".

They put blinders on racehorses to keep them focused on the track in front of them otherwise they will be looking at all the other horses. In the same way we must put on blinders so that we won't focus on others. We have to strive to reach the goal which is Jesus Christ if we are comparing ourselves to others then we have lost our focus and risk going astray. Also we must not strive to try and be like others that we perceive to be "better believers". The horse that only runs to catch the horse in front of it only runs as fast as the other horse. Instead we must strive beyond that. We must strive to be like the example that Christ set before us. If you copy a copy you get an inferior product. Our society has set up copies to emulate and then we wonder why it is getting worse. Drugs are invading all areas of our society, crime is increasing, marriage is declining, lust has replaced love, STD's are increasing and becoming deadlier, greed is admired and emulated, fame has replaced character and integrity. We must be copies of the original.

Wednesday, 3/15/06
An unholy life begins with “little” sins.

Thursday, 3/16/06
I am incapable of changing a single heart. Only Christ is capable of touching hearts. I can present the truth but I can not make anyone see it. O how my heart aches that others may give their life to Christ rather than living these hopeless shells that only focus on what is before them. Quit living for the world and start living for eternity.
Tuesday, 3/21/06
Our actions reveal ourselves if we are lying to the world then our actions will betray our words. If I tell someone that I like dogs but then they see me kicking puppies then what will the believe? In the same way if you say that you love the United States and you speed on the road and cheat on your taxes then what is the truth? If I'm a police officer and I commit grand larceny how will the public perceive that? If I'm a Christian and I don't follow God's desires for us then what is the truth?

Wednesday, 3/22/06
Fear is one of the primary reasons that we sin. We make bad choices because we're afraid that God isn't watching out for us. We vote for politicians that support abortion because they will protect our jobs. We're afraid that God isn't protecting us financially. We charge the newest gadget to our credit card because we're afraid we'll miss out on something or what other will think of us if we don't have it. We're afraid that God isn't providing the things we need. We have sexual relations for fear of being alone, the person won't be interested in us otherwise, peer pressure, etc. We're afraid that God isn't providing us love. Trust God will provide what you NEED.

Thursday, 3/23/06
How am I today? I'm wonderful for He is risen!

Friday, 3/24/06
When we have faith as small as a mustard seed then we can move mountains. O how I pray that my faith can be great enough to move a world.
Monday, 3/27/06
Those in the greatest danger are those that are convinced that they are saved but are not. In this situation, people have not had their spiritual eyes opened. Their behavior does not change and they continue to do what is wrong in thie sight of God but they do not realize their danger because of their false belief of their salvation. These are they very people we need to reach with the message of what is right and wrong. We need to present the fact that when we are saved then Christ makes us a new creation and our actions will be transformed. We will put away the old sinful things and we will choose the righteous things.

Tuesday, 3/28/06
This change will be both immediate and longer term. Some things Christ will change in us immediately and some things we are resistant on and it takes longer for it to change. Those that have no change at all have to question if they have actually given their heart to Jesus.

Wednesday, 3/29/06
Simple every day acts build the foundation of our life. If God is not part of that foundation then how can we expect to withstand the storms of larger events?

Thursday, 3/30/06
Can we not see the correlation between the removal of God from our society and the degradation of that same society? We have removed God from our government, from our schools, sexual immorality is promoted, movies and television are filled with every kind of impure thought, and our society falls farther from His Glory.

Friday, 3/31/06
America we have taken our eyes off the road ahead of us and we have fallen into every trap and snare the enemy sets for us. We need to turn our eyes back upon the Lord and He will lead us through.
