What is the point of Christ? Can't I just be a good person? Why would God send someone to Hell just
for not being Luthern or Baptist or Catholic or Methodist or just plain Christian? Because we all
sin! I am unable to be a "good" person as God wants us to be because that requires me to be perfect.
Seperation from God for etenity is reflective of our seperation from Him in this world. Christ's
sacrifice on the cross wipes away that sin but only if I request it. In another words, I need to
start listening to God. I'll still make mistakes and I'll continue to ask for forgiveness.

When we talk about seperating God from politics, job, or any other area of our life then we fail to
realize that it is all interconnected. If I try and play a baseball game but I don't bring any
equipment to play then I'm going to have some problems. In the same way we will have problems
dealing with those areas of our life that we disconnect from God.

Personal responsibility. We are all responsible for our choices. Satan can try and influence us but
he can't make any choice for us. When we realize this then we start to take a huge step towards God.

Is there such a thing as "gray areas" or is it always a matter of right and wrong? God is very clear
on this. When God gives us direction you won't find Him saying "don't do this unless..." or "do this
if...". You don't find if's, and's, or but's with God. Those that talk about "gray areas" are
usually doing the wrong thing but want to justify it. Others tend not to understand "gray areas".
For example, I'm not saying that you have a rule that the children can't leave class and then
an accident happens and creates a "gray area". The rule is maybe that children don't leave class for
nonimmediate reasons. This sets right and wrong and avoids conflict. When someone tells you there
are "gray areas" then what they are really saying is that you can't tell someone else what is right
and wrong. If we can't say what is right and wrong then what happens to society? We can't set laws
and society degrades into anarchy.

What is the difference between religion and sprituality? Often times people think of religion as
dogma but that isn't religion. Religion is our listening to God and what He desires for us which in
turn is the same as spirituality. Religion doesn't have to be at a church and can be anywhere. This
is why aethism is actually a religion, it's just following false gods instead of the one, true God.
Science is another example of what many have turned into a religion. They place it above everything
else making it their god.

And now these three remain: Faith, Hope and Love. But the greatest of these is Love.

God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; He does great things beyond our understanding.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.

He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a
mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will
be impossible for you."
Matthew 17:20 NIV

Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with Me in paradise."

What's wrong with just enjoying "The Da Vinci Code" just for what it is, fiction? Because many do
not understand that it is an effort to convince the world that Christanity is comprised of leaders
with secret motives and followers that are mindless sheep. God wants everyone to listen to Him and
hides nothing from us. The secular world thinks there are secrets because they don't understand the
simple truths that God teaches. And they think we are mindless sheep because they don't understand
our joy and peace.

I was asked the other day if I was worried that recent events are leading to Armageddon? God reveals
to us through John's writing in Revelation what is going to happen in the future. This isn't like
Dickens' and the ghost of Christmas to come, this IS what is going to happen. Am I worried? Yes, I
worry about all the suffering that will take place at that time but even more importantly I worry
about all those that will never accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. In a way, I also look forward
to then because it will mean the pain and suffering, the sin, of this world is coming to an end.

In Mary Shelley's Frankenstein man seeks to become God and create life. This is what people take as
the warning from the book and it is the very thing we see doctors and scientists trying to
accomplish now. But the greater message that is often missed is the warning against trying to turn
science into God yet that is the very thing that much of the world has attempted to do. Men turn to
science "to explain the world around them" which is the same as what the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians,
etc. all tried to do with their religions. Where science becomes its own religion is that it tries
to do this using only those things that are measurable. Their truth is tainted by the fact that if
they can't measure it then they don't believe in it. Now their are scientists seeking to bring God
into the equation but the scientific community as a whole decries them as heretics. The easiest
question for this regardless of evolution, the big bang, etc. where did the heavens and the earth
come from? They can't answer that. They will expound upon the big bang theory or something else but
where did the material, regardless of the theory, come from then? The answer is simple, everything
was created by God.

Isn't it interesting to listen to a certain political party talk about how all views should be
respected yet THEY only respect those that they agree with. Hmmm... Senator Lieberman supports the
war in Iraq and what do they do? They want to get rid of him, and they say it shouldn't be about one
issue. They say that they are the party for women BUT that obviously only applies to those women
that are pro-abortion. Speaking of abortion what do they say about those that oppose it? That you
are suppresive and just want women to have back-alley abortions and die. So I guess we should only
protect certain women. Children in the womb can be WOMEN, shock-surprise, but they don't vote. And
how about speeches, when was the last time you heard of Senator Reid or Senator Durbin being drowned
out by boos or getting whip cream in the face? But the other party has that done to them routinely.
Sounds like to me that only one party is willing to show respect for those they disagree with and it
isn't the party of Kennedy, Pelosi, or Clinton.

And how about the hypocrisy of their contradiction in opposing the death penalty and yet supporting
abortion and euthanasia. They say we shouldn't have the death penalty because it's barbaric and
innocent people could die and yet the same is true of abortion and euthanasia. I oppose all three.
We need to protect the innocent, give people a chance to change, and protect the weakest among us.

Just as a man born blind has never seen the water that washes the dirt from his body so are we
washed clean by Jesus Christ.
Tuesday, 5/23/06
When we walk with God then we become a new creation. We quit following the ways of the world not
through our own might but instead Christ removes those shortcomings. We need only let go and hand
them over to Him.
Wednesday, 5/24/06
The Truth doesn't require us to believe for it to be true. And since the Truth is going to exist
regardless of us then we might as well believe. It would be mighty foolish to try and stand against
it.

Have you ever noticed that our society has decided that we can't speak about Christ in our schools,
in our government, at our jobs, all because it might "offend" someone but they have no problem with
things that are offensive to us?
Friday, 5/26/06
Stores won't play music about God because it might "offend" but they play music about sex, drugs,
murder, etc. Movie companies avoid Christian films but make movies that mock Christanity. We can't
can't pray at school but we have to have a special month recognizing sexual immoralities. Obviously
they have no problem with being "offensive" as long as it's what they want.
Monday, 5/29/06
We should stop trying to do things FOR Christ. He can do anything He needs to perfectly without us.
We should let Christ do things THROUGH us.
Tuesday, 5/30/06
Do not fail to seek the Lord for fear of the fallen one, for if you fail to seek the Master then
the serpent already has you!
Wednesday, 5/31/06
The world treasures antiques and collectibles, searches for love and direction, and exalts money
and talent. We should search for the Lord, love and exalt Him, treasure His blessings, and let Him
direct us.
